Nicole Valle-Ryczek is a Wisconsin author, songwriter, and multi-genre storyteller who writes fiction that tells the truth.

Her work spans psychological suspense, coming-of-age romance, slow-burning love stories, magical realism, fantasy, family humor, children’s adventures, and faith-rooted personal growth. Nicole writes across genres because she is interested in people more than categories and life does not live in one place. Her stories explore relationships, identity, family, faith, difficult choices, second chances, and the moments that reveal who someone really is.

Sometimes those stories are told by mothers, lovers, teenagers, scientists, and people facing impossible circumstances. Others are narrated by Death, a family vehicle, a century-old clock, a battered stuffed platypus, or an elf who has finally had enough of Santa’s management style.

Apparently, human narrators have competition.

Nicole’s holds a Bachelor's in both Business and Psychology, graduating Magnum Cum Laude, while strengthened an interest already central to her writing: why people make the choices they make, what they hide from others and themselves, how relationships shape identity, and what finally allows someone to change. Business taught her how systems are supposed to work. Psychology confirmed that people rarely follow the instructions.

Her storytelling is also informed by lived experience, because they say write what you know. Nicole has survived personal trauma, lost her mother to cancer, lived with fibromyalgia, and rebuilt her life after the end of a 20-year marriage. She later found love again and became part of a blended family with six children.

Those experiences add depth to her work, but they are not the work itself. Nicole is less interested in cataloging everything that hurts than in exploring what people choose to build afterward. Her stories make room for grief and joy, doubt and faith, heartbreak and love, pain and beauty—because real life rarely gives us only one thing at a time.

She brings that same perspective to her original music, released under the name Nicole Valle-Ryczek—a reflection of the future she is building with her fiancé. Whether she is writing a novel, short story, daily reflection, or song, Nicole creates work that is honest about difficult things while remaining open to hope, humor, connection, and the beauty people can still find—and create—along the way.

Her first responsibility is always to tell a compelling story. If that story also helps someone feel seen, recognize a truth, laugh at exactly the wrong moment, or notice beauty in an unexpected place, even better.
